The Las Rozas City Council has been honored by Plena Inclusión Madrid at its 12th annual awards ceremony, acknowledging its dedication to building a more inclusive society for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

This award highlights the efforts of the Las Rozas council in implementing municipal policies that foster accessibility, social participation, and citizen awareness. The organization stated that this recognition values the commitment to inclusion in areas such as culture, social action, and public policies.

In recent years, the city has managed to consolidate its commitment to the rights and social inclusion of people with disabilities and their families.

Las Rozas' social policies align with the principles of the 2006 Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, aiming to provide opportunities, advance universal accessibility, and highlight the talents of people with disabilities. These initiatives include promoting leisure activities, family support, and respite programs for caregivers.
The Mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz, expressed his gratitude and pride for the award, emphasizing that it serves as an impetus to continue working on inclusion, a municipal priority supported by various local associations and social entities.

"We are very grateful and proud to receive this award, especially as it is granted by an organization that is a benchmark in helping people with intellectual disabilities. It is a recognition that encourages us to continue working for inclusion, a task that the Las Rozas City Council considers a priority, and in which the many associations and social entities in our municipality help us."
