The morning of April 6 saw an emotional gathering at the town hall. Mayor Jesús Moreno and the Councilor for Family and Equality, Sonia Lolo, officially welcomed Andrés to present him with the award recognizing him as champion in the Adapted Low category.
Since the young athlete could not attend the official trophy ceremony at the end of the competition on March 21, this event served to settle that pending matter. Andrés was accompanied by his parents, Luis and Rosa, and his coach, Cristina Delgado, who have witnessed his dedication and effort.
Andrés Míguez's victory is not an isolated event but is part of a tournament edition that positioned Tres Cantos as a benchmark in inclusive sports. The event, organized by the ASPADO association at the Pádel Sport Center Club facilities, brought together various associations and foundations from across Spain and Portugal.
“"With more than two decades of experience, ASPADO has consolidated this event as one of the most relevant on the national calendar, and the victory of this young 'tricantino' adds a reason for pride for the host city."
What happened on the courts and what was celebrated at the town hall transcends numerical results. This tournament has highlighted the role of sport as a fundamental tool for social inclusion, emphasizing values such as camaraderie, equal opportunities, and personal improvement. The award presentation was made on behalf of ASPADO (Pádel For All Association), whose spirit was very present during the event.
