On March 29, the municipality of Redueña celebrated its traditional Tree Day, an initiative that brought together families and young people to strengthen their connection with nature and renew their commitment to the environment.

These activities are crucial for instilling a strong environmental consciousness from an early age. By caring for their own tree, children not only learn to respect and protect the natural environment but also develop values such as responsibility, perseverance, and a sense of belonging to their community. In a global context marked by climate change and biodiversity loss, local actions like this acquire significant value.
The inclusion of fruit trees adds an educational and healthy component, promoting sustainable and local consumption habits. The children come to regard their tree as a true treasure, caring for it and visiting it throughout the year, sharing its evolution with family and friends, and feeling like active participants in environmental conservation.
The day began at 12:00 PM with the placement of names on the trees and the planting of new specimens for children who did not yet have one assigned or whose tree needed to be replaced. Subsequently, attendees participated in planting strawberries in the central beds of the arboretum, reinforcing the educational and participatory nature of the activity.
To conclude, four new trees corresponding to the “A Tree for Europe” program were planted in the municipal park. This initiative encourages municipalities and institutions to plant at least one tree as a symbol of their commitment to local sustainability and the fight against deforestation. Redueña has been part of this project for several years, reaffirming its involvement in environmental care.
The day concluded in a festive and communal atmosphere, where attendees enjoyed delicious migas prepared by Rubén, regaining energy after a morning dedicated to caring for nature. With activities like this, Redueña not only plants trees but also awareness, future, and respect for the environment.
