The program began with a special book club featuring writer Miguel Dueñas, who presented his book MIA, fostering a close encounter between literature and citizens.
Among the training initiatives, a women's empowerment course stood out, focusing on strengthening self-esteem, confidence, and active participation of women in society. Additionally, on March 13, the Espacio Joven hosted a workshop on healthy relationships, specifically aimed at young people, to promote bonds based on respect and equality.
With this varied program, Cabanillas de la Sierra has once again demonstrated its commitment to equality, the visibility of female talent, and the construction of a fairer and more inclusive society.
The central event took place on March 8 in the Town Hall square, where a manifesto was read in the presence of numerous residents, advocating for women's rights and reflecting on progress and pending challenges.
Activities continued on March 20 with a session dedicated to women's health, addressing topics such as menopause and nutrition, providing useful information and practical tools for well-being. A cultural highlight was the performance of Las Sin Sombrero on March 21, which rescued the memory of forgotten women from the Generation of '27. Students from 4th year of ESO at Instituto de La Cabrera also participated with their own performance, demonstrating the commitment of younger generations to equality.
The program also included a circular march through the municipality, promoting coexistence and community participation. Furthermore, each Monday of the month, a space on social media was dedicated to recognizing outstanding women from the town. This year, the “Women of the Year” were Lucía, from the local school's teaching staff; Amaya Lorea, an award-winning fashion designer; Silvia, a gymnastics teacher; and María, a resident and arts teacher.
