On November 8, Purísima Concepción Street in Parla was the scene of a violent brawl between two groups of people. During the confrontation, a man was severely injured with a wooden stake, dying minutes after falling unconscious to the ground.
After the incident, those involved fled the scene in a vehicle before the arrival of officers. The weapon used in the assault was found near the site. This tragic event shocked the town, as the body was discovered on a Sunday in a central area, next to Plaza de la Guardia Civil, while families and residents were out walking.
“"The investigation proved to be «laborious» since passers-by and neighbors who alerted emergency services could not provide data or descriptions of those involved."
Despite the initial lack of information from witnesses, the investigation progressed and allowed for the identification of the three alleged perpetrators, who were recognized by the victim's friends. Finally, on April 15, a special operation was launched, culminating in the arrest of these individuals in the Toledo towns of Portillo and Fuensalida, and in Albatera (Alicante).
The detainees are accused of homicide. After being brought before a judge, the competent authority has ordered the imprisonment of the material perpetrator of the acts.
