The Móstoles City Council has illuminated the Monument to Liberty, located in the Plaza del Sol, in green and orange colors for the World Metastatic Breast Cancer Day, commemorated annually on October 13th.

This municipal initiative aims to support the Spanish Association of Metastatic Breast Cancer (AECMM), making visible the reality of those who suffer from this disease and raising awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
Metastatic breast cancer is an advanced stage of the disease that currently has no cure. Although research advancements have improved treatment options and prognosis, there is still a long way to go towards its chronification, extending survival, and achieving the best possible quality of life.
Through this action, the council seeks to highlight the reality faced by patients and their families, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early detection of this tumor, which is the most frequent in women but also affects millions of men worldwide.
