This action will allow intervention on an area close to 50,000 cubic meters, where a new infrastructure will be erected. Following debris removal, excavation and foundation consolidation will take place on the same plot, followed by the construction of the new building, as reported by the regional government.
The intervention begins after the completion of the new electrical transformation center, an essential infrastructure to ensure the energy supply for the future healthcare building. The new facility will span 18,600 square meters distributed over seven floors.
Two of these floors will be dedicated to Emergency and Radiodiagnosis services, another two will house Outpatient Consultations, and the three underground floors will be used for parking. The infrastructure has been designed to offer more spacious, functional areas adapted to the needs of patients, families, and professionals.
The building will include glazed interior courtyards, accessible areas, and green spaces, aimed at improving the healthcare environment. The relocation of outpatient consultations to the new building will allow for renovations in other hospital areas to enhance comfort and efficiency, including the Onco-Hematology Day Hospital, the Endoscopy Unit, the Pharmacy Service, and laboratories.
The total investment planned by the autonomous government for this project amounts to 44.6 million euros. Currently, the hospital has over 300 beds and a staff of 2,400 professionals, handling more than 35,000 consultations and 100,000 emergency attendances annually.
