The II Volunteer Week in Móstoles, organized by the City Council through the Volunteer Information Point (PIV), concluded with the 'Voices of Volunteering' event. The gathering featured debate panels on 'Protagonists of Change', digital volunteering, and the future of solidarity, bringing together volunteers and specialized entities.
Mayor Manuel Bautista, accompanied by Councilor Raquel Guerrero, visited the Impact Mural, a space showcasing personal perspectives on volunteering. Bautista emphasized human commitment as a fundamental pillar for building community, describing volunteering as a social transformation force.
The closing ceremony also included the II 'Voluntary Action' Awards. Honorees were the Transfusion Center of the Community of Madrid, the Móstoles University Hospital, and IES Juan Gris, recognized for their Service-Learning (ApS) Project 'Blood Marathon'. This initiative set a record with 110 donations in a single day, far exceeding the usual daily average.
The Volunteer Information Point (PIV) in Móstoles, part of the Volunteer Information Points Network of the Community of Madrid since 2024, has seen significant growth. It currently has 104 new volunteers, 22 affiliated entities, 8 training actions, and 7 service-learning projects (APS).
Throughout the week, various training and awareness activities were held at different city locations, including the Social Services Center at Avenida Láctea, 33, Plaza del Pradillo, and the Conference Hall of the Villa de Móstoles Cultural Center, fostering participation and the development of a more solidary and inclusive city.
