The initiative aims to improve energy efficiency and adapt the installation to the current layout of trees, parking areas, and street designs.
According to the Councilor for Maintenance, Roberto Fernández, the goal is to continue the progressive replacement of streetlights throughout the municipality, promoting a more ecological approach by reducing electricity consumption and enhancing street illumination, thereby increasing safety for pedestrians.
The replacement of the 800 luminaires is expected to result in energy savings of up to 68.76% in electricity consumption, bringing significant environmental benefits due to the substantial reduction in CO2 emissions.
The new light points will be distributed more appropriately according to tree locations and the specific needs of each street. LED luminaires, better suited to tree height and type, will be installed to optimize lighting levels while reducing energy consumption.
