The Zarzaquemada District Board has announced a 52% budget increase, exceeding 39,000 additional euros, to boost activities in the Zarzaquemada, El Carrascal, and Leganés Norte neighborhoods.

The District Board of Zarzaquemada, in Leganés, has approved a significant 52% increase in its budget for the current fiscal year. This measure, translating to over 39,000 additional euros, aims to primarily boost activity in the neighborhoods of Zarzaquemada, El Carrascal, and Leganés Norte.
The increase will focus on chapters II and IV, designated for current expenditure, and will allow for an expanded cultural and leisure offering for residents of all ages. The entity's president and councilor from Unión por Leganés (ULEG), Carlos Delgado, presented a detailed report of recent actions during the Board's plenary session.
Delgado expressed the desire for this budgetary boost to materialize into "more culture, more fun, and more opportunities for connection" for the area's children, youth, families, and seniors. For the upcoming Christmas season, the organization of children's theater and a chamber music concert aimed at seniors are planned.
Furthermore, efforts are underway to revive the celebration of the San Juan festivities with the future awarding of a specific contract. The Board's president also emphasized the commitment to transparency and citizen participation, noting that more plenary sessions have been held in the last three years than in the preceding decade.
These plenary sessions, open to all residents, facilitate direct dialogue on matters of interest to the district, allowing attendees to ask questions to the councilors present.
