Leganés Street in Getafe will undergo significant repair and resurfacing works starting next Monday, July 13, divided into three phases to reduce impact on residents.

The Maintenance Department of the Getafe City Council has scheduled a series of works for this summer, including the comprehensive repair of Leganés Street. These works, commencing on Monday, July 13, aim to improve a key access route to the city from the A-42 and M-406.
As explained by the Councilor for Maintenance, Roberto Fernández, the choice of summer months is to minimize disruption to residents, given the high traffic volume the street handles daily. The intervention will be carried out in three phases to facilitate circulation.
The first phase will take place between Maestro Arbós and Maestro Turina streets, allowing access to the La Alhóndiga neighborhood but not to the city center. Subsequent phases, with punctual and duly signposted closures, will occur between Maestro Turina and Estudiantes streets, and later between Estudiantes and Rayo.
The work will involve repairing the road surface in different sections, followed by new asphalt on the two inbound lanes. The estimated budget for these actions is around 400,000 euros.
Additionally, during the summer, repair works will also be undertaken on the Isidro Parejo Risco roundabout, where Leganés Street converges and provides an exit to the neighborhoods of Centro, San Isidro, and La Alhóndiga.
