The decision comes after the Community of Madrid suspended the concession of the Vallecas stadium in late July due to significant safety deficiencies. This situation left Rayo without a confirmed venue for its home games.
One of the considered alternatives was El Plantío in Burgos, an option that generated rejection among some Rayo fans due to the distance. For now, the agreement between Leganés and Rayo is limited to the match against Alavés.
The host club will facilitate its facilities in coordination with the Community of Madrid, under a series of guarantees to protect the interests of local fans and CD Leganés itself.
Rayo will begin the league competition as visitors on August 15th against Sevilla. The match against Alavés will be their first at home, albeit away from Vallecas. Butarque has previously hosted a match for the Madrid team, the derby against Atlético de Madrid last season, due to the poor condition of the Vallecas stadium's pitch.
CD Leganés will allocate part of the match's revenue to an initiative for its fans, recognizing the supporters' connection with Butarque.
