The proposal addresses the need to improve traffic flow towards Perales del Río. However, it has been noted that a municipal report from 2021, prepared after storm Filomena, already suggested reconstructing this path with only one direction of travel.
The mayor of Getafe has sent a letter to the Community of Madrid's Environment Department, requesting authorization and funding of 800,000 euros for this operation. If approved, this measure would help alleviate the mobility challenges faced by residents of Perales del Río.
“"We have offered to mediate with the Community of Madrid to authorize two-way traffic on the cattle track leading to Perales del Río, the Vereda de la Torrecilla."
The Vereda de la Torrecilla is a crucial infrastructure connecting Getafe and Perales del Río, and its potential conversion to two-way traffic represents a possible solution for vehicular congestion in the area.
