The political party Podemos Móstoles has presented a motion to promote the progressive installation of secure bicycle parking in strategic points of the city, with the aim of fostering sustainable mobility and cyclist safety.
The proposal seeks to improve conditions so that residents of Móstoles can travel by bicycle with greater safety guarantees, especially for their daily commutes to work or studies.
Podemos Móstoles believes that the lack of adequate spaces for parking bicycles is one of the main obstacles to their regular use. Currently, many users have to leave their bicycles in anchors that they consider insufficient or poorly protected against theft and vandalism.
The motion includes conducting a technical study to determine priority locations, developing a municipal plan for progressive implementation, and allocating a specific budget in future municipal budgets. A pilot phase is also proposed to launch the project.
The initiative also aims to promote intermodality with public transport, connecting new cycling infrastructure with Cercanías train stations and other key points of urban transport.

"Móstoles «cannot continue to be late in sustainable mobility policies», stated the spokesperson for Podemos Móstoles, Mónica Monterreal Barrios, «while other cities in our area advance with useful and realistic measures»."
“
"It is necessary «to provide the city with safe infrastructure that responds to the real needs of those who already use bicycles and those who could start doing so»."
