The Community of Madrid has initiated a new phase in the reform of the healthcare center in Móstoles, with the construction of an 18,600 square meter building. This new infrastructure will house key areas such as Emergency, Radiodiagnosis, and Outpatient Consultations, in addition to an underground parking lot.
The current demolition affects nearly 50,000 cubic meters of structure. Once the debris is removed, excavation and foundation consolidation for the new building will begin. This phase starts after the completion of the new electrical transformation center, essential to ensure the energy supply for the future property.
The design of the new building includes seven floors. Two of these will be dedicated to Emergency and Radiodiagnosis, while another two will host Outpatient Consultations. The remaining three floors, located underground, will be used for parking. The project incorporates glazed interior patios, accessible areas, and green spaces, aiming to improve the comfort of patients and companions, as well as facilitate the work of healthcare professionals.
The relocation of Outpatient Consultations will free up space in the current facilities for a second phase of reforms. This will allow for the expansion and modernization of the Onco-Hematology Day Hospital, the Endoscopy Unit, the Pharmacy Service, and the laboratories, with more functional designs and increased natural light.
Natural lighting is a fundamental criterion, especially in areas like the Day Hospital, where patients with severe chronic pathologies receive prolonged treatments. The comprehensive remodeling of the Hospital de Móstoles not only seeks to expand healthcare capacity but also to significantly improve working and care conditions in this healthcare complex in southern Madrid.
