The National Police has arrested a man in Alcalá de Henares for offering more than 50 surveillance cameras online that had been previously stolen from the Móstoles campus of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC).

The investigation began in mid-March, following a complaint filed by the university. The complaint reported the disappearance of 59 video cameras from one of its buildings in Móstoles.
Inquiries allowed agents to confirm that this equipment was being offered for sale through a profile on a digital buying and selling platform, as reported by the National Police.
Subsequently, the devices were located at a man's residence in Alcalá de Henares. On April 15, a search and entry of the home were carried out, where a large portion of the cameras were recovered.
In total, 52 cameras, valued at 40,000 euros, were seized and returned to the URJC. During the search, over 21,000 euros in cash were also found. The arrested individual is accused of a presumed crime of receiving stolen goods.
