The National Police has arrested an individual for allegedly selling more than fifty surveillance cameras online that were stolen from the Móstoles campus of the Rey Juan Carlos University.

The investigation began in mid-March, following a report from the Rey Juan Carlos University regarding the theft of 59 cameras from one of its buildings in Móstoles. Police inquiries led officers to identify the suspect and locate the equipment at his residence.
According to sources from the National Police, investigations revealed that the stolen equipment was being offered for sale on a digital platform, using the arrested individual's profile. This information was crucial for advancing the case.
A search of the suspect's home, conducted on April 15 in Alcalá de Henares, allowed officers to recover 52 of the stolen cameras. The estimated value of this batch of devices amounted to 40,000 euros, and it has since been returned to the affected university.
Additionally, during the inspection of the residence, over 21,000 euros in cash were found. The arrested individual faces charges for an alleged crime of receiving stolen goods, related to the possession and sale of stolen property.
