CD Leganés is set to compete in the 46th edition of the Villa de Leganés Trophy on August 8th, facing CD Tenerife in a friendly match.

The traditional blue-and-white tournament returns to its usual slot before the league's start, having been held in October during the last two years due to the San Nicasio Festivities.
The 'pepineros' opponent for the Pepino d’Or will be CD Tenerife, who have recently returned to Segunda División this season. The Canarian team will participate in the Villa de Leganés Trophy for the first time. This competition has been held continuously since 1980, with the sole exception of the 2020 edition, which was suspended due to COVID.
This match will serve as the final test for the home team before the league season commences, scheduled for the weekend of August 15th-16th. Information regarding the definitive match time and ticket sales will be announced soon.
Leganés leads the trophy's all-time standings with twenty-five titles, the last three won consecutively. They are followed by Rayo Vallecano and Getafe, each with three titles, and Atlético de Madrid and Real Valladolid, with two.
