CD Leganés drew goalless in their third pre-season friendly match, played this Wednesday against CD Nacional, a team from the Portuguese First Division. The game marked the debut of Álvaro Tejero after his recent signing and confirmed the team's main deficiency: the forward line, currently comprising only Álex Millán and Alfred Gothler.
Rubén Albés's starting lineup consisted of Raúl Fernández; Figueredo, Lalo, Ignasi Miquel, Marvel, Franquesa; Andrés Campos, Diawara, Buurmeester; Roberto López, and Álex Millán. After halftime, Soriano, Tejero, Gueye, Pulido, Beltrán, Naim, Rubén Peña, Atienza, Kechta, Siame, and Gothler also participated.
The match was a typical pre-season encounter, focused on physical and tactical preparation. Goal-scoring opportunities for Leganés were scarce, with a notable shot from Andrés Campos that went wide and a header by Roberto López that hit the crossbar in the second half.
Leganés's next friendly match is scheduled for this Friday, July 24th, at 11:00 AM against Peñafiel, a team from the Portuguese Second Division, at the Barreiro facilities. Following this match, the team will return home for a weekend break before resuming training on Monday.
Meanwhile, the sporting management is working on finalizing the squad. Andrés Pardo, head of signings, acknowledged the need to bring in attacking reinforcements: "We are playing with one striker and attacking midfielders, so it's a position where we will certainly need to add players." He emphasized that priorities are focused on the attack, although signings will depend on market developments and they do not wish to rush, awaiting a "priority option" to execute.
