The Leganés City Council has approved a budget amendment that will allow for an investment of over one million euros in the renewal of urban furniture and new recycling containers.

The initiative, funded through the treasury surplus, includes a 300,000 euro allocation specifically for the acquisition of new selective waste collection containers. The remaining investment, nearly one million euros, will be used to replace and upgrade benches and trash bins throughout the municipality.
The approval of the file took place during an extraordinary plenary session. The vote was successful for the government team due to the absence of several opposition representatives, which allowed the necessary majority to be reached to validate the use of these public funds.
During the session, municipal groups debated the financial management of these actions. While the opposition agreed on the need to renew urban elements, they questioned that the funding was carried out through budget amendments instead of being integrated into the ordinary annual accounts.
