Leganés is preparing to host the 'Ruta de la Tapa' (Tapas Route) from this Friday until June 28, an event that breaks its participation record with over 80 hospitality establishments.

The gastronomic initiative, aiming to establish Leganés as a culinary benchmark, will feature a wide array of creative tapas. Mayor Miguel Ángel Recuenco has highlighted the event's importance for the city's life.
Among the culinary proposals are creations such as 'tempura piparra on a bed of cod brandada', 'carabinero and eel salad', or 'smoked sardine on piquillo pepper confit', among many others.
Attendees can sample these tapas for a single price of 2.50 euros (drink not included) and participate in online voting to choose their favorite. Over 2,500 euros in prizes will be awarded, including a gastronomic getaway, gourmet hampers, and dinners.

"Those who participate in the voting can opt for over 2,500 euros in prizes, including a weekend gastronomic getaway for two with spa and winery visit; three gourmet hampers from Cristina Oria; and ten dinners for two valued at 100 euros to enjoy at participating establishments."

As a novelty, the establishment winning 'Best Tapas of Leganés 2026' will receive a kitchen robot. Additionally, a free tourist train will operate to facilitate access to participating venues in different city areas during the event weekends.
The Tapas Route, revived in 2023 after a five-year hiatus, invites residents to 'Taste, enjoy, vote, and win,' encouraging the discovery of new establishments and support for local hospitality.
