The San José de Valderas Neighborhood Association announced on Tuesday, May 5, the postponement of its festive events. This decision was made considering the investment of personal, material, and economic resources, especially to protect elements like the giants and big-heads, which cannot be exposed to adverse weather conditions. The organization will seek a new date for their celebration.
From the City Council, the Sinkope concert, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, has been canceled and rescheduled for June 19. However, this is the only activity postponed by the Culture Department. Other proposals, such as the performance by Ratonautas. Mini Rocket from the Sin Fin company, will be moved indoors to the San José de Valderas Social Center at 12:00 noon if it rains.
The cultural program includes two storytelling sessions at municipal libraries. On Friday, at 18:00, the Ciudad de Nejapa library will offer a family reading animation workshop. On Saturday, from 12:00, the José Hierro library will host the storytelling session De Fábula. Additionally, on Friday, May 8, at 19:30, the Margarita Burón Cultural Center will feature a recital.
On Saturday, May 9, from 17:00 to 23:00, the Fuente Cisneros Civic Center will inaugurate an exhibition of Jamaican painting, featuring works by Tope Alcorcón, accompanied by music, stalls, and raffles. For children, the Puppet Center will present the family show La semilla, by La Canela Títeres, on Saturday, May 9, at 18:00.
The Club Moto maintains its program at the Los Castillos esplanade, from Thursday, May 7, to Sunday, May 10. Activities include urban dance and a DJs festival on Friday, May 8. Saturday, May 9, will be an intense day with karaoke, musical sessions, and the Pop Rock Festival 2026. Sunday, May 10, will conclude with a classic vehicle concentration, a popular paella, and more musical performances.
