A former roommate of one of the defendants accused of murdering a man in Getafe in 2021 testified before the jury that the accused carried a pistol hidden in his ankle and was involved in businesses related to drug trafficking.

The trial, taking place at the Provincial Court of Madrid, is progressing with testimony from witnesses connected to the incident that occurred on November 23, 2021. The statements suggest a possible motive related to drug matters.
The witness recounted episodes that, in his opinion, indicated the defendant "was not well," as well as alleged deliveries of money and packages linked to illicit activities. He stated that the defendant lacked stable employment and had alleged ties to drug trafficking. He described how, during a trip, a man handed the defendant a small wallet which he immediately put away, later taking money from it.
He also indicated that on the day of the events, he accompanied the defendant to Getafe, leaving him waiting for several hours in a parking lot after the defendant got into a car that included the victim among its occupants.

"He carried a small-sized pistol because he said he needed protection, indicating he wore the weapon hidden in his ankle on the day of the events."

The former roommate also maintained that the defendant was involved in drug-related businesses. Investigators from the Homicide Unit of the National Police initially focused their inquiries on a possible settling of scores, given the manner of the attack. However, the exact motive for the murder has not yet been fully clarified.
