Getafe Local Police Carried Out Nearly 4,000 Interventions in March

Actions included the arrest of 17 individuals, follow-up on gender violence cases, and traffic controls in the municipality.

The Getafe Local Police recorded a total of 3,873 interventions during the past month of March, highlighting the arrest of 17 individuals for various offenses and intense activity in gender violence and road safety.

Of the total interventions, 822 were managed by the Gender Violence Unit, leading to the arrest of 17 individuals. Among the most notable actions of the month was the identification of three males on March 11 for attempting to steal fences from the perimeter of the Lagunas de Getafe.
The Traffic Unit accounted for 879 interventions, resulting in 18 offenses against road safety. In line with campaigns by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), over 600 passenger vehicles were checked for seat belt use and child restraint systems. During the month, 93 traffic accidents were recorded, mostly involving minor injuries.
The Gender Violence Unit carried out 822 services, maintaining active protection monitoring that included 157 police assessment interviews and nearly 300 telephone calls. The Getafe City Council specified that protection files remain active for victims with extreme and high-risk levels.
Meanwhile, the Tutor Agent Unit conducted 424 actions, focusing on meetings with educational centers, truancy prevention, and road safety training for 482 students. The Ecological Unit intervened on 327 occasions, emphasizing its work in controlling debris and waste dumping, as well as monitoring parks and gardens. The Perales del Río Unit performed 368 services, ensuring citizen safety and preventing illegal dumping in the neighborhood.
In terms of assistance, officers carried out 232 direct aid interventions for citizens, including assisting injured or sick individuals and responding to emergency situations in homes and public areas. In administrative policing, 149 incidents related to disturbances, mainly noise in homes and public spaces, were managed to ensure community coexistence. The Canine Unit conducted fifty interventions, including 16 identifications, two arrests, and nine drug seizures. The Night Security Area also managed 770 services, of which 322 were related to citizen safety and 110 to neighborhood disturbances, resulting in six arrests and eight individuals investigated for alleged road safety offenses.
