The 'JaqueNauta' initiative, originating in Getafe, aims to revitalize chess, making it more accessible and engaging for children, young people, and their families. Its creators seek to go beyond a simple online class platform, promoting an interactive and participatory experience.
To achieve this, the platform offers a variety of resources, including level-based courses, online tournaments and activities, monthly live sessions with expert teachers, and dedicated spaces for families and youth. The emphasis is on creating an active community where members can publish content, comment, and contribute to the project's dynamism.
The teaching team at 'JaqueNauta' consists of three instructors who remain active in competitive chess. Two of them, Héctor Martín and Jorge de la Cruz, are monitors for the Madrid Chess Federation (FMA), while Javier Galarreta serves as a monitor for the Spanish Chess Federation (FEDA).
“"Our idea is that chess does not remain something specific or individual, but that it can also enter the home as a shared hobby, with a more current, more social format, and more connected with how many families relate today."
Currently, the platform is focusing its efforts on outreach among families associated with schools in Getafe, offering a special access proposal to ensure a start with real activity and encourage participation from the outset.
