The Alcorcón Municipal Police have closed down four unlicensed mechanical workshops in the El Ventorro del Cano industrial estate, freeing up 171 parking spaces and initiating 43 proceedings for abandoned vehicles.

A recent operation by the Alcorcón Municipal Police has led to the closure of four mechanical workshops operating illegally in the El Ventorro del Cano industrial estate. This intervention, carried out by the Environmental Unit between March 9 and 27, has resulted in the recovery of a significant number of parking spaces.
During the inspection campaign, which covered all streets in the industrial estate and reviewed a total of 59 workshops, officers verified compliance with municipal ordinances related to cleanliness, access, and proper business activity. The police action aimed to ensure legality and safety in the area.
As a result of this operation, 31 vehicles lacking mandatory insurance or presenting deficiencies that posed a risk to road safety were removed and transferred to the Municipal Depot. Additionally, another 140 vehicles parked on public roads were identified and investigated.
The combined effort of removing vehicles and those claimed by workshop owners or managers has freed up a total of 171 parking spaces. This measure aims to facilitate normal use of these spaces for users of the industrial estate. Furthermore, 43 proceedings have been initiated for abandoned vehicles, which will be managed as urban solid waste.
