The blaze started shortly after 11 PM on Sunday. Upon arrival at number 7 of the street, Madrid Community firefighters found the flames had spread significantly, affecting two rooms while the rest of the dwelling was filled with smoke.
Four units from the Madrid Community Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes.
As a consequence of the incident, the SUMMA transported the homeowner, a 42-year-old woman, to the Fuenlabrada Hospital for minor smoke inhalation. Two other residents received on-site treatment and were discharged without needing hospitalization.
During the operation, apartments on the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of the building were evacuated. The 25 affected residents were able to return to their homes after firefighters confirmed there was no longer any risk.
