The cultural agenda of Móstoles for this weekend offers various free leisure options following the end of the Patron Saint Festivals. The IV Diana Martín Urban Mile stands out, taking place next Saturday, September 19, in PAU-4. The race, with a 1.6-kilometer circuit along Moraleja de Enmedio street, will feature different categories and distances, from U-8 to Master and Absolute. The top three finishers will receive trophies, and all participants in the U-8 category will receive a medal.
As part of the European Mobility Week, running from September 16 to 22, the municipality will host various initiatives to promote sustainable mobility. Plaza del Sol in PAU-4 will be the stage for afternoon artistic performances: on Friday the 18th, the Rodolfo Halffter Professional Music Conservatory will perform; on Saturday the 19th, José Merino Dance Studio; and on Sunday the 20th, the Urban Dance Association. Additionally, on Saturday the 19th, Avenida Iker Casillas will be closed to traffic for a car-free day, and a cycling lap around Finca Liana Park will take place.
The Almudena Grandes Central Library will host the presentation of the novel “VIVO en Lavapiés” by Sergio Díaz Martín on Friday, September 18, at 6:30 PM. The book, published by Ediciones Jardín de Estrellas, explores the relationship between people and technology through the story of a man rebuilding his life in Madrid's Lavapiés neighborhood after a devastating loss.
The Formula 1 experience arrives at X-Madrid with “Fórmula X: Un pequeño Gran Premio”. Visitors can compete on a six-lane Scalextric track over 8 meters long, where energy is generated by the participants themselves using stationary bikes, crank handles, or conventional controllers. This activity will be available in the central indoor plaza of X-Madrid on September 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, and 27.
The Móstoles Monumental program returns on Sunday, September 20, with a free guided tour of the historic center. The visit, starting at the City Museum at 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM, will cover exteriors of historic buildings such as the Andrés Torrejón House-Museum, the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Saints, and the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption.
