The Popular Party of Getafe has ratified its current spokesperson as the candidate for Mayor for the 2027 municipal elections, following official approval from the Regional Board.

The designation was formalized this Monday during the meeting of the PP of Madrid regional body, chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso. This announcement is part of the first list of 29 candidates selected by the party for the upcoming local elections in the region.
The popular candidate highlighted that this selection represents support for the work carried out during the current term. In the 2023 elections, the municipal group managed to increase its representation in the Getafe City Council, going from five to ten councilors, which allowed them to match the socialist party in the number of seats.
The party has indicated that the project for 2027 will focus on offering an alternative to the current administration, focusing on issues such as housing, public safety, and the maintenance of urban infrastructure. The party's goal is to turn the balance of power obtained in the last election into a majority that allows for a change of government in the city.
