The neighborhood association of El Leguario, in Parla, has raised an alarm over a worrying escalation of crimes that has transformed the perception of security in the district, urging authorities to take immediate action.

The neighborhood group has expressed its exasperation with a situation that, they claim, has become unsustainable. In recent days, the neighborhood has been the scene of multiple incidents, including home invasions with theft, attempted squatting, vehicle thefts, car break-ins, and street robberies.

And this is not an exception. It is the norm that many residents experience in silence in different parts of the city.

This situation is exacerbated in a neighborhood that was already in the news last November, when the NH Hotel, located in the same area, was occupied by a hundred people, requiring a significant police operation for their eviction.
Given the seriousness of the events, the association has sought protection from various bodies and institutions. They have sent letters to the Parla City Council, the General Council of the Judiciary, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Justice, and the Government Delegation in Madrid, seeking an effective response to their demands.

It is not a symbolic gesture. It is a warning that we are going to reclaim our neighborhood for the residents, and we urge other neighborhoods in the city to take similar actions.

The association has warned that, if an adequate response is not provided, residents will continue to organize and escalate their protests. They emphasize that security is non-negotiable and that inaction by authorities will have consequences, not only for residents.
Although data from the Ministry of Interior for the last year indicates a reduction in crime in Parla following the implementation of the 'Plan Parla' by the Government Delegation, with an increase in National Police personnel, residents of El Leguario insist that insecurity has ceased to be a perception and has become a daily reality in their neighborhood.

We need more police, more resources, more coordination, and less propaganda.
