The educational team Pink Black, composed of ten students and two teachers from Móstoles' Villa Europa School, was received at the City Hall by the mayor, Manuel Bautista, and the Councilor for Education and Culture, Cristina Molina. They will represent Spain in the international final of the FIRST LEGO League, a prestigious robotics and innovation competition.
Mayor Manuel Bautista expressed his pride in the team's participation: “It is an honor that you carry the name of Madrid and Móstoles to the American final. You are an example of overcoming challenges and proof that in Móstoles we have quality, innovative education that has led us to international recognition”.
The project presented by the Pink Black team has been praised for its robot design and its focus on innovation, technology, teamwork, and the development of young talent. This achievement follows their third-place finish in the National Final of the FIRST LEGO League, which saw 1,300 teams and 14,000 students from across Spain compete.
The FIRST LEGO League is a competition that combines robotics with educational training, promoting learning in science, technology, and innovation through practical challenges, as well as fostering personal and social skills. The team from Móstoles will now face some of the best teams in the world in this field.
