The National Police has dismantled a criminal organization in Fuenlabrada, arresting five individuals for 'sowing' robberies, which resulted in an economic loss of 20,000 euros through fraudulent bank card use and transfers.

The police operation concluded with the arrest of four men and one woman, allegedly involved in a network dedicated to stealing belongings and conducting fraudulent banking operations. The arrests took place in the Madrid districts of Carabanchel and Villaverde, as well as in the Toledo town of Carranque.
The investigation began in early January, following several reports from victims who claimed their personal items had been stolen and their bank cards used without authorization. Fraudulent activities included 15 ATM withdrawals, 12 purchases made both in person and online, and a bank transfer of 20,000 euros. Two mobile phones were also among the stolen items.

"The perpetrators typically targeted women who left their handbags on the passenger seat when entering their vehicles. One person would distract the victim from one side while another extracted items from the opposite side."

The gang's modus operandi involved distracting victims, usually women who left their bags on the passenger seat, to steal their belongings. Subsequently, the stolen items were handed over to a third person responsible for concealing them and making fraudulent purchases.
The National Police highlighted the complexity of the investigation, as the individuals involved used rental vehicles and falsified Mexican passports. They also concealed their identities with caps, neck gaiters, and non-prescription glasses.
