The Municipal Group Más Madrid Móstoles has expressed concern over the state of olive trees transplanted on Málaga street, following construction work for a residential development in the area. A total of ten olive trees were moved within the same street, from their original location to another plot.
Municipal sources have defended that the transplant was carried out «correctly» by a company hired by the development's promoter. However, Más Madrid points out that the transplanted specimens show a different condition compared to those that remained in their original spot, exhibiting visible signs of dryness that could indicate difficulties in their adaptation.
Given this situation, the political group requests the Municipal Government to evaluate the health status of the trees and adopt necessary measures to promote their conservation, highlighting the heritage value of these olive trees, whose accumulated age exceeds a thousand years.
“"He describes the situation of the olive trees as 'critical' and urges the local Executive to 'dedicate all available means to guarantee their survival if possible at this stage, and if not, to take the necessary administrative and political measures to ascertain responsibilities'."
The spokesperson for Más Madrid Móstoles, Jesús Arrabé, has described the olive trees' situation as 'critical' and urged the local Executive to use all available resources to ensure their survival. If not possible, he demanded that the necessary administrative and political measures be taken to ascertain responsibilities.
