The organization Ecologistas en Acción has filed a complaint with the Community of Madrid regarding an alleged environmental crisis in northern Alcorcón, where debris and hazardous waste, including asbestos, are reportedly being buried.

The environmental group has submitted the complaint to the General Sub-directorate of Environmental Inspection and Discipline of the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior. They are requesting an urgent precautionary halt to the activities and an assessment of the land's contamination level to determine if it should be declared contaminated soil.
According to the organization, the work affects an area of approximately 985,000 square meters located south of the Ventorro del Cano industrial estate, between Alcorcón and Boadilla del Monte. This land is classified as non-developable protection land and belonged to the Ministry of Defense until its auction in 2023. Ecologistas en Acción states they received reports from users of public paths and livestock trails in May about earthmoving activities in the area. Following several site visits, they claim to have confirmed the use of heavy machinery to "disseminate, mix, and bury" various types of waste.
Among the detected waste, the collective mentions potentially hazardous materials such as asbestos, glass, or lead. The entity believes these actions could have caused significant soil contamination and pose risks to human health and the environment. The complaint also highlights the removal of vegetation in less affected areas, including "hundreds of retama" plants, and alerts to the disruption of wildlife habitats during a sensitive breeding season.
The group is calling for the initiation of a sanctioning procedure and the adoption of urgent measures to stop activities that, in their view, are causing a significant environmental impact in this southwestern Madrid enclave. Sources from the Alcorcón City Council indicate that this is a private operation, although they have stated they will forward the matter to municipal technical services. The Ministry of Environment assures that, "to date," no complaint has been received regarding this case, but an inspection will be requested once it enters the disciplinary process.
