Traditional Madrid commerce was also acknowledged with a distinction for a historic confectionery shop that has been sweetening the capital since 1852. One of the most moving moments of the day was the presentation of the Grand Cross to the students of IES Humanejos de Parla, who were honored for their bravery and solidarity in rescuing a woman from drowning during a trip to Ireland.

The list of honorees also included a battle painter, an agricultural journalist, a major cycling competition, a hospital celebrating its centenary, and a wildlife recovery center. In the health and technology sectors, a doctor and a technology company were recognized, while a club was awarded for its contribution to revitalizing an iconic Madrid building.

Following the closing of the event and the performance of the national anthem, Puerta del Sol became the setting for a tribute to those who fell on May 2nd, 1808. The regional president, alongside the mayor of the capital, laid a laurel wreath before the commemorative plaque.

The day concluded with a spectacular historical reenactment of the uprising against Napoleonic troops, organized by a historical-cultural association. Hundreds of re-enactors, carriages, and cannons brought the events to life for residents and visitors, while a renowned singer provided the musical finale to the festive morning.
