Agents of the National Police carried out the arrest of two men in Alcorcón, accused of robbing an apartment building. This action was made possible by citizen collaboration, which allowed authorities to locate the alleged burglars. A similar incident occurred in Carabanchel during the early hours of Tuesday, where additional arrests were made.
In the Alcorcón case, the neighborhood alert was issued on April 17. Residents notified the National Police about two men, wearing caps and masks, loitering on the landings of a building. Upon the arrival of the officers, sweeps were conducted in nearby streets, leading to the successful capture of the suspects. Specific details regarding the exact location of the affected homes have not been provided.
During the search of the detainees, officers found sticks inside a cloth bag, as well as a lighter and a knife. One of the suspects was wearing a jacket stained with a yellowish melted plastic thread. Subsequent police investigations revealed that the individuals had marked up to six apartments in the building with a melted filament, a technique used to check for occupants and plan future robberies.
As a result of these events, the two men from Alcorcón and the three from Carabanchel have been arrested for home burglary offenses and have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
