Aranjuez tenders maintenance of Las Olivas Sports City for 1.5 million
The City Council seeks to outsource cleaning and maintenance services to ensure the operational efficiency of the sports facilities.

The Aranjuez City Council has put out to tender the contract for maintenance and cleaning services for the «Las Olivas» Sports City, with an estimated budget of €1,536,843.15 for a three-year execution period, extendable for one more year.
Interested companies have until August 13 to submit their bids. The tender, published on the State Contracting Platform, responds to the insufficiency of the council's material and human resources for the comprehensive provision of these services.
According to the technical specifications, the City Council lacks the workforce with the necessary specialization and hourly availability to cover the center's opening shifts. External contracting is considered the most efficient and economical option, ensuring specialized management that reduces costs and guarantees the operational status of the sports facilities.
The main functions required include the operation of opening and closing facilities, control of electrical, air conditioning, heating, and water systems, as well as general custody of machinery and furniture. Furthermore, operators will carry out continuous conservation work in electricity, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, and painting, ensuring immediate repair of minor breakdowns and permanent upkeep of common and sports areas.

From acipa we hope that the company that is awarded the contract complies with each and every one of the requirements set out in the tender, just as we hope that the Aranjuez City Council fulfills its part of the contract. It is true that the Las Olivas sports city assumes an enormous public attendance, because in Aranjuez we lack facilities that alleviate the need for use by clubs and individuals, so correct care and maintenance of these facilities is more than necessary. As always, we hope there will be no delays in the award, that as many companies as possible submit bids, and that the contract is fulfilled in all its requirements."
Jesús Mario Blasco, Spokesperson Councilor for the Independent Citizen Group for Aranjuez, stated that they do not oppose outsourcing if it is justified by reports and hopes that both the awarded company and the City Council will fulfill their commitments. He emphasized the high public attendance at the Sports City and the need for proper maintenance due to the lack of other facilities in Aranjuez.

"The construction of a new covered multi-sport space is urgently needed. Every season in Aranjuez, club teams increase, new ones emerge… and all of this leads to overcrowding of existing facilities. It is necessary for the Government to work on this situation because currently the municipal covered facilities cannot cope anymore… and the situation is critical."
The independent spokesperson also highlighted the urgency of building a new covered multi-sport facility due to the overcrowding of current installations, noting that the situation is critical.
The tender details specific actions by zone: at the swimming pools, three daily water analyses and temperature control will be performed; for the artificial turf and pavilion, protocols for brushing and sand refilling will be applied, and the pavilion floor will undergo polishing treatment; and for the racket courts and fitness rooms, nets, surfaces will be maintained, sand will be refilled on padel courts, and the weight machines and ventilation systems will be constantly supervised.
