The Alcorcón City Council and the Association for the Anti-Alcoholism Fight of Alcorcón (APLAA) will hold a special event to honor the career of Paco Albarrán, a fundamental figure for the entity, by naming the rehabilitation center after him.

This Saturday, May 9, the APLAA association, which last year completed four decades of work in the municipality, will name its Rehabilitation Center, located at Avenida de Polvoranca, 78, after Paco Albarrán. The mayor of Alcorcón will attend the event.

"In today's podcast, we talk about this recognition with the current president of APLAA."

Additionally, the Club Amigos de Alcorcón has launched its new online store, offering clothing with solidarity messages and designs. Proceeds will support the entity's various projects, making collaboration possible from just one euro. The association is also preparing the sixteenth edition of its charity race, to be held on May 31.
In the cultural sphere, the Viñagrande Civic Center hosts today the play SINO by the company Las Titis, a proposal for those over 18 that explores the stories of seven women. Next week, on Wednesday, May 13, the same center will present Papá Úbula – La ranita que quería ser cantante, a children's and family play for charity, with proceeds benefiting the local Red Cross Assembly in Alcorcón.
Finally, although the festivities of the San José de Valderas Association have been suspended, the Alcorcón Motorcycle Club will celebrate its 46th anniversary festivities in the esplanade of Los Castillos until Sunday, May 10, maintaining one of the municipality's most popular traditions.
