The Alcorcón Urban Agenda is being enriched by contributions from residents of the Ondarreta, Igueldo, and Alcorcón II neighborhoods, who have submitted various proposals for the municipality's development and improvement.

Over recent weeks, meetings have been held in streets, squares, facilities, educational centers, and senior centers in these neighborhoods to gather citizen opinions. The initiative aims to develop and implement the Urban Agenda through an alliance with the citizenry, emphasizing active listening as a fundamental pillar.

"We are promoting not the Alcorcón of the future, but the Alcorcón of the present, with proposals for the regeneration of public spaces with the main goal of creating a livable city that improves the quality of life for Alcorcón residents."

These meetings culminated in an assembly at the Salvador Allende Senior Center, where opinions were exchanged, and questions from attendees were directly addressed. This proposal collection process will gradually extend to other neighborhoods in the city.
Within the framework of these meetings, information was also provided regarding the installation of a private crematorium in an industrial plot in Urtinsa. It was clarified that this initiative is a private activity, unrelated to promotion or construction by the City Council.
The Consistory reminded that, since 1996, funeral activity ceased to be an exclusive service of city councils and became an economic activity. After receiving favorable reports from the Community of Madrid and municipal technical services, the license has been granted in accordance with current regulations. The City Council has indicated that aspects permitted by legislation will be reviewed, and the Community of Madrid will be asked to review the corresponding health and environmental reports.
