The San José de Valderas Festivities, a highly anticipated event in Alcorcón, are just around the corner. Residents of the historic neighborhood have organized a series of activities that maintain the essence of previous years, solidifying a program that is already a benchmark in the area.
The festive day will kick off on Saturday, May 9. At 10:00 AM, the giant figures will be set up to commemorate the X Anniversary of the Giants and Big-Heads of Valderas. Subsequently, a grand parade will take place, including a Floral Offering to Father Zurita. On this occasion, the giants and big-heads from Torrejón de Ardoz and Pozuelo de Alarcón will join those from Alcorcón on a route starting on Carballino Street and passing through Plaza Constitución, Ribadeo, Caldas de Reyes, Urano, Avenida Los Castillos, Venus, and Parque Grande, ending at the starting point.
The afternoon program will continue with various proposals. At 11:30 AM, there will be children's activities, followed by a foam party at 12:30 PM, organized by the Alcorcón Firefighters and National Police vehicles. At 1:30 PM, an act of recognition and homage will be held for the X Anniversary of the Giants and Big-Heads of San José de Valderas, hosted by a local announcer.
The afternoon will conclude with a popular paella at 2:30 PM. At 5:00 PM, the chupinazo will mark the start of the children's bull runs five minutes later. Music will take center stage from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with DJ sessions, bringing this special day to a close.
