The Popular Party's Municipal Group in Alcorcón will present a proposal to create the 'Sandbox Alcorcón', a controlled space where companies and entrepreneurs can test innovative projects.

This initiative aims to position Alcorcón as a leader in urban innovation, with the goal of attracting investment and talent, as well as generating employment. The proposal also seeks to facilitate the development of technological solutions that improve citizens' daily lives.
The spokesperson for the Popular Party, Roberto Marín Vergara, highlighted that such tools are already used in other cities to test technologies in areas like mobility, sustainability, or public service digitalization, and expressed his desire for Alcorcón not to fall behind.
According to the political party, the future regulatory framework would allow the development of pilot projects focused on energy saving, improving communication between the City Council and citizens, optimizing traffic and parking, accessibility technologies, and enhancing the efficiency of municipal services.
The motion specifies that any initiative will be carried out under municipal supervision, ensuring the safety and rights of citizens. Successfully completing the experimental phase will not exempt participating companies from complying with current regulations to obtain the necessary authorizations and licenses.
The Popular Party believes this measure will strengthen Alcorcón's competitiveness in accessing grants and funding programs related to innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable urban development.
Marín Vergara stated that the objective is for Alcorcón to become a city that attracts opportunities, generates quality employment, and uses innovation to improve public services and the quality of life for its residents.
The proposal also includes opening a participatory process for drafting the ordinance, inviting collaboration from companies, associations, universities, and citizens to ensure transparency and establish accountability mechanisms.
