This Saturday, the Alcorcón Fire Department is holding an open day at the Unified Security Center. The event, which had to be postponed earlier due to adverse weather conditions, aims to bring the work of security and emergency services closer to the public, especially children.
The event, taking place from 10:00 to 14:00, is a collaborative effort with the Municipal Police, Civil Protection, and the National Police. A variety of activities are planned, including practical workshops and demonstrations, designed to promote knowledge about prevention and self-protection.
“"A few weeks ago, weather conditions prevented us from holding this open day for the city as planned. I encourage our neighbors to enjoy a family day and take the opportunity to learn about our public security services, as well as the basic prevention recommendations that all of us should know to live better and safer."
Highlights include a fire prevention workshop, an agility course, rescue demonstrations at height and in traffic accidents, an orientation and smoke diving course, as well as a first aid workshop and fire extinguishing activities with hoses. These activities are designed for active participation by children alongside the professionals.
The Department of Security emphasizes the importance of the public acquiring basic knowledge of self-protection and first aid, as citizens' initial response is crucial in emergency situations.
