Alcorcón's agenda for this week stands out for its diversity, combining literary initiatives, the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit, and local news coverage. On Thursday, April 23, coinciding with Book Day, several meetings with students will take place.
That same afternoon, attention will turn to the AEPA Awards, an event that seeks to recognize the work of entrepreneurs and prominent figures of civil society in the town. The literary celebration will continue on Friday at Colegio Alkor, with a day dedicated to poetry for primary school students.
Colegio Alkor recently received significant recognition in the II edition of the MBA League Madrid Noroeste, securing first place in the Delta and Gamma categories, in addition to the Most Entrepreneurial School award. This competition, promoted by MBA Kids, fosters entrepreneurial spirit through the creation of real business projects among students. Secondary school students presented innovative proposals such as NovaRadix, an ecological solution to prevent damage to sidewalks caused by tree roots, and Job&Fly, an application to connect young people with local jobs. These successes will allow them to represent the Community of Madrid in the national final.

Meanwhile, the indefinite strike in early childhood education centers across the Community of Madrid, which began on April 7, remains active. The protest, called by the Labor Platform for Early Childhood Education Centers and supported by unions like CGT, demands improvements in staff working conditions. In Alcorcón, the conflict has garnered significant attention, with the local executive showing support for the demands and a recent concentration held in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
A worker from an early childhood education center in the municipality has shared her testimony about the situation in a local podcast, offering an inside perspective on the conflict.
