The Alcorcón City Council has approved the tender for the works to install a roof over the sports and games court in Gloria Fuertes Park, located on Jabonería Street, aiming to expand its usage possibilities.
The intervention seeks to facilitate the use of these facilities by students from CEIP Santiago Ramón y Cajal and children from the neighborhood throughout the year, promoting sports practice and leisure. Additionally, the new structure will function as an «urban climate refuge».

The project includes the construction of a structure with wooden beams, metallic pillars, and a translucent polycarbonate roof. This solution will allow natural light to enter while ensuring safety conditions.
Furthermore, a lighting system with low-consumption LED lamps will be installed, extending operating hours and improving both visibility and safety within the enclosure. Two retractable and rolling grandstand modules, each accommodating 32 spectators, will also be included for scheduled municipal activities.
