The Alcorcón City Council has approved the call for 'Cheque Hogar' municipal aid for 2026, which this year increases its budget and individual amount to 800 euros per household.

The Local Government Board of Alcorcón has greenlit the call for public municipal aid 'Cheque Hogar' for the year 2026. These subsidies, aimed at residents of the municipality, seek to support essential housing expenses such as utility payments (electricity, gas, water), community fees, or rent.
Mayor Candelaria Testa highlighted the notable growth of this initiative, stating that in six years the budget has nearly multiplied by seven, increasing from 171,000 euros in 2021 to 1,150,000 euros for the current call. Additionally, the individual aid per beneficiary rises from 750 to 800 euros.
Testa emphasized that the increase in budget, aid, and application period aims to ensure that the citizens of Alcorcón receive municipal support to cover their regular household expenses, acknowledging residents' tax contributions.
For her part, the Councilor for Social Services, Pilar Jiménez, explained that this aid is intended for residents not covered by social assistance services. The application period will be 60 calendar days following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM).
The requirements to access the aid include being registered in Alcorcón, meeting limitations on property ownership and household per capita income, and being up-to-date with tax and Social Security obligations.
Eligible expenses cover utilities (water, gas, heating, electricity), rent, and community fees. The applicant must be the holder of the bills or invoices, which must refer to the registered home address. The maximum aid will be 800 euros per household, covering the justified amounts.
