The event, kicking off at 09:00 from the Santo Domingo sports center, will challenge athletes with various physical obstacles. Participants can choose from three categories: 6 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and the 10 kilometers Elite version, designed to test runners' endurance and physical capabilities across different areas of the municipality.
A major highlight of this special edition is the chance to secure a spot in the OCR World Championship. Competitors in the 10 kilometers Elite category will vie for these qualifying places. In the Age Group category, the top 25 finishers will earn a World Championship pass, while the top five in the Pro category will also gain entry.
Carmen Martín, Councilor for Youth, Diversity, Technological Innovation, and Sport, emphasized that the race will feature different difficulty levels to accommodate all participants. This anniversary edition will also introduce new obstacles, a commemorative t-shirt, and innovative participation formats.
In addition to individual competitions, there will be options for pairs, teams, and corporate participation. The event will include awards, related activities, and at least four preparatory training sessions scheduled in the two months leading up to the race. All registered runners will receive the anniversary t-shirt and a finisher medal, with the day concluding in a post-race celebration.
Residents registered in Alcorcon will receive a discount on registration by using the code ‘Alcorcon2026’. Mayor Candelaria Testa highlighted the city's honor in hosting this event, describing it as a 'great sporting spectacle'.
“"It is an honor to host the 10th Anniversary of ‘Desafío de Guerreros‘, which will bring together numerous athletes next September and will make our city the venue for a great sporting spectacle."
Through this initiative, Alcorcon is preparing to host a day dedicated to sports and competition, offering top athletes the chance to qualify for the OCR World Championship.
