The CSIF union has reported an incident that occurred at the Valdemoro prison this Thursday, where a prison officer working in the Infirmary Department was assaulted by an inmate. The event took place around 7:25 PM.
According to the union's report, the officer ordered the inmate to pass through an access gate. The inmate, ignoring the order and showing nervousness, threw a punch to the upper chest area of the employee. The officer required medical observation and showed redness in the affected area.
Following the assault, other officers present managed to subdue the inmate. However, a subsequent medical evaluation did not deem it necessary to move him to the Isolation Department.
“"The aggressive inmate remains in the infirmary without any consequences, his behavior therefore going unpunished."
CSIF urgently calls for the inmate's transfer to another prison or his relocation to the Isolation Department, criticizing the lack of repercussions for his actions.
