The Aranjuez City Council has initiated works to adapt the roundabout in Plaza de la UNESCO, a project that includes revegetation, improved pedestrian access, and the restoration of its fountain, which was previously vandalized.

The intervention, presented by the Mayor, Miguel Gómez Herrero, and the Delegate for Green and Blue Infrastructure, José González Granados, aims to complete the revegetation of the public space and enhance its usability and connection with the urban environment.
The project follows the design chosen in 2013, in line with the Master Plan for the Protection, Use, and Management of Green Zones of Aranjuez. A central seating area will be created, and concrete pathways will be built to facilitate pedestrian connections between the square and its surrounding streets, organizing routes and maintaining design coherence.
A key aspect of the project is the restoration of the fountain, which was vandalized and out of use, with the goal of reintegrating it into the public space.
Work has already begun with the cleaning of the area, and the execution period is expected to be four months. Through this initiative, the council is advancing the improvement of the square, restoring elements and pathways that will enhance its use and urban connection.
