This recognition coincides with the celebration in 2026 of the 25th anniversary of the Aranjuez Cultural Landscape's declaration as a UNESCO World Heritage site, an occasion that the Alcalá de Henares City Council deems particularly fitting for the award's presentation.
The Aranjuez Cultural Landscape Foundation, established in 2005, focuses its activities on the management, monitoring, dissemination, and promotion of the Cultural Landscape, as well as fostering collaboration between administrations and entities involved in its conservation.
The Aranjuez Cultural Landscape was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO on December 14, 2001, and encompasses the historic orchards, tree-lined promenades and groves, the Palace and its gardens, and the historic city center.
