The municipality of Aranjuez will host the 2026 Balloon Festival on October 24th and 25th, the only event of its kind in the Community of Madrid, featuring simultaneous take-offs and a night-time spectacle.

The festival, organized by The Balloon Company with sponsorship from the Community of Madrid and collaboration from Patrimonio Nacional and the Aranjuez City Council, aims to replicate the success of previous editions. The event will offer public take-offs and a notable 'Magical Night' on Saturday evening.
The schedule indicates that on Saturday, October 24th, there will be simultaneous take-offs at Plaza de los Coroneles in the morning (around 08:00 AM) and afternoon (around 05:00 PM). In the evening, at 9:00 PM, Plaza de Parejas will host the 'Magical Night', with balloons on the ground dancing with lights to music.
On Sunday, October 25th, Plaza de los Coroneles will host morning simultaneous take-offs, also around 08:00 AM. It is noted that all hot air balloon activities are subject to weather conditions, with approximate times that may be modified or canceled.
The festival will feature approximately 12 hot air balloons and their teams, who will participate in skill-based challenges such as following a 'hare' balloon or hitting targets with markers. The balloons can reach up to 30 meters in height. The previous edition attracted nearly 20,000 people and revives a historical milestone: the first manned flight of a hot air balloon in Spain took place in Aranjuez on June 5th, 1784.
